Oh how time flies

Right, well it's nearly the end of February and I haven't written since November - such a significant time-gap that someone has asked whether this blog is dead. Well I say 'no'. No it bloody ain't and I'm gonna rejuvenate its very soul.
I would like to give the excuse that academia is all too consuming, but it has been more to do with sheer laziness. Also, are people still into blogs? I mean what with all that myspace/facebook stuff - but then I think that's all for kids or wanna-be-kids, or wanna-be-famous-kids or whatever. Am I wrong? Right, I will return when I have something more interesting to say. I must have stored up some rants... oh yes, I have, some goodies.... but right now I have a chapter to edit so watch this space...
